• The Association of State Floodplain Managers (ASFPM) is an organization of professionals involved in floodplain management, flood hazard mitigation, the National Flood Insurance Program, and flood preparedness, warning and recovery.

• Environment Canada's Freshwater web site is designed to show the importance and extent of fresh water in Canada. Topics include: the nature of water, water management, policy and legislation, and water and culture. A section of the site is dedicated specifically to the Flood Damage Reduction Program.

• Environment Canada's Atmospheric Environmental Service provides weather forecasts, charts, maps, and climate information.

• National (US) Weather Service Forecast Office (NOAA) in Seattle supplies local weather, river, radar and satellite information.

Emergency Preparedness Organizations

• British Columbia Provincial Emergency Program (PEP) maintains effective awareness, preparedness, response and recovery programs to reduce the human and financial costs of emergencies and disasters.

• The B.C. Environmental Emergency Program provides the central planning and technical support for emergency prevention, preparedness and response in British Columbia.

• Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Canada is the federal agency responsible for co-ordinating emergency planning for the Government of Canada.

• The Emergency Preparedness Information Exchange (EPIX) is provided by the Centre for Policy Research on Science and Technology (CPROST) at Simon Fraser University.

• Geological Survey of Canada's National Earthquake Hazard Program operates nearly 100 instruments across the country to detect and locate more than 1,000 earthquakes in Canada every year. Together, these instruments make up the Canadian National Seismograph Network.
