Water Rental Rates

Effective January 1, 2006 changes were made to rental rates for water licences, supporting permits over Crown land and short term water use approvals.

The new rental structure has been designed to:

• simplify and consolidate rate structures;
• make rates more fair, applying the same rate to similar water uses; and
• help support water management responsibilities, which include water allocation, provincial dam safety, flood management and water use regulation during water shortages.

The actual rent which will apply may vary. This program will not provide estimates of additional charges which may apply, such as late payment or application fees.
