Help Up to four attributes of observations are evaluated to determine whether each observation should be secured (1) species, (2) code, (3) days-after-observed, and (4) season of observation. You use this form to set security of observations based on those 4 attributes.

None of the attributes are mandatory. Specifying more attributes reduces the number of observations affected by each rule. For example if only species is specified, then all records of that species will be secured. Similarly, if only a code of Mineral Lick is specified, all observations of mineral licks will be secure, regardless of the species.

Also, observations may be secured for only a specified time period after the obervation and/or for specific seasons of the year. For example, Wolverine dens could be from Jan 1 to May 31 of the year they are observed by specifying days-after-observed and Julian start and end days.

Species Code This is a pick-list of all species in the SPI taxonomy tables.

Code The picklist of codes is dependent upon which code-set was chosen prior to opening this form.

Days After Observed Observations will be secured for the specified number of days after the date of the observation.

Clicking this delete button will ask for confirmation to delete this one row of data from this form.

Add All Child Taxa This button is a convenient way to add the various subspecies to this form. For example, if you first manually enter a row consisting of Great Blue Heron - Incubating, then clicking the Add All Child Taxa button will cause all the subspecies of heron to be added, along with the activity 'Incubating'.
