Introduction
The Forest Investment Account (FIA) eligible activity Fish and Fish Habitat activity
is part of the Resource Inventories activity area. Eligible criteria descriptions are given on the
Resource
Inventories Area Expectations page . FIA Account funding recipients interested in undertaking Fish and
Fish Habitat projects, are required under their recipient agreement with PricewaterhouseCoopers, to adhere to
RISC standards or Best Practices standards established by government. The lists below;
(Mandatory Standards, and Project Specific Standards), provide
on-line access to those standards.
Also included is a list (Other Related Information) to access other related
documents that the user may reference as they develop their project.
In the event a recipient desires to vary from the standards a request must be submitted
to PricewaterhouseCoopers who will then forward that request for approval of the variance.
Any innovative approaches must be follow the Criteria for
Conducting Innovative
Projects.
Recipients are requested to notify the Ministry of Environment of any Fish and Fish Habitat related projects initiated by notifying FishStand@gov.bc.ca. Final project deliverables (including those for innovative projects) must be sent to the Ministry of Environment through the fish data submission process
Mandatory Standards (For All Projects Within This Eligible Activity)
The standards in this list are required for all Fish and Fish Habitat projects and
must be cited in the Project Proposal (FIRS). Note: for updates to all standards in the list below refer to Reconnaissance (1:20 000) Fish and Fish Habitat Inventory: Standards and Procedures - Version 2.0, Errata 2009.
Project Specific Standards
The standards in this list are required for specific
project types in addition to the Mandatory Standards above. Note: for updates to all standards in the list below refer to
