Fish and Fish Habitat

Introduction

The Forest Investment Account (FIA) eligible activity Fish and Fish Habitat activity is part of the Resource Inventories activity area. Eligible criteria descriptions are given on the Resource Inventories Area Expectations page . FIA Account funding recipients interested in undertaking Fish and Fish Habitat projects, are required under their recipient agreement with PricewaterhouseCoopers, to adhere to RISC standards or Best Practices standards established by government. The lists below;  (Mandatory Standards, and Project Specific Standards), provide on-line access to those standards.

Also included is a list (Other Related Information)  to access other related documents that the user may reference as they develop their project.

In the event a recipient desires to vary from the standards a request must be submitted to PricewaterhouseCoopers who will then forward that request for approval of the variance. Any innovative approaches must be follow the Criteria for Conducting Innovative Projects.

Recipients are requested to notify the Ministry of Environment of any Fish and Fish Habitat related projects initiated by notifying FishStand@gov.bc.ca. Final project deliverables (including those for innovative projects) must be sent to the Ministry of Environment through the fish data submission process

Mandatory Standards (For All Projects Within This Eligible Activity)

The standards in this list are required for all Fish and Fish Habitat projects and must be cited in the Project Proposal (FIRS).
