Welcome to the Omineca Region

Omineca Region

The Omineca Region covers the north central interior section of British Columbia. From the Interior Plateau to the remote wilderness majesty of the central Rocky Mountains, there are numerous lakes and trails, and for the winter visitor, downhill and cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling. The rivers and lakes offer anglers world class fishing and the varied landscape hosts a tremendous diversity and abundance of wildlife - elk, moose, caribou, grizzlies, and lynx. Over a dozen provincial parks and nature reserves preserve and protect the rugged landscape.
