Steps to Possess Dead Wildlife for Personal Display

Transfer property rights in dead wildlife or wildlife parts from the government to a person
Please note that we can not issue permits for Eagles, Snowy Owl, Great Grey Owl, Badger or any red-listed species and/or if wildlife has an auction value of over $200 for personal display.

Please note that this type of permit cannot be issued to an individual - please refer to code 2(p)

Steps to Possess Live Wildlife for Rehabilitation Facilities
(Permit type 2 (t) – Applicable fee $0)
Ensure that the following information is on the General Permit Application

Mark on rehabilitation exam (must be 80% or higher)
Proof that facilities have been inspected and passed by Ministry personnel
Evidence that the applicant has the means and facilities necessary to treat wildlife, including the following information:
Qualifications of the people who will be working with wildlife at the facility
Description of measures that will be taken to prevent wildlife escape
Description of euthanasia methods to be used
Documentation to be attached to application:
Letter of recommendation from a licenced veterinarian, Conservation Officer, or permit holder of a Designated Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, indicating that you have had a minimum of 100 days of experience over a two year period in wildlife rehabilitation
Letter from a BC licensed veterinarian reasonably accessible to the proposed facility willing to act as the principle consulting veterinarian
Proof of public liability and property damage insurance
