Nechako White Sturgeon are critically endangered and have been listed under schedule 1 of the Federal Species at Risk Act. After finding evidence
of a significant population decline, the Ministry of Environment initiated a recovery process in 2000. A partnership amongst First Nations, Governments and the
community, called the Nechako White Sturgeon Recovery Initiative, is currently working towards recovery of this population through stewardship, conservation fish
culture and habitat research and restoration. The following link provide access to information on the recovery initiative, research reports and other information
relating to white sturgeon and the recovery process.
