Ministry of Environment Authorities under the Forest and Range Practices Act

One of the primary objectives of the Forest and Range Practices Act (FRPA) is to maintain and protect environmental values. The Act and associated regulations provide statutory authority for the Minister of Environment or delegate to take a number of actions to ensure the maintenance and protection of environmental values. These include:

Delegation of Minister's Powers and Duties

The following matrix lists those Minister's powers and duties under FRPA and its regulations that have been delegated. Further delegations will be made to reflect amendments to these Acts as required.
The delegation matrix is provided for information purposes only and may change at any time, without notice. Delegation of an authority does not necessarily preclude the Minister of Environment from exercising that authority.
Although every effort has been made to keep the delegation matrix current, it may not reflect all of the delegations made to date by the Minister.

Please note: The delegation matrix refers to section 2 (2) of FRPA (i.e., the Act) as the source of authority to delegate. However, section 2 (2) was repealed in 2007 and replaced by Division 3, Delegation, with new sections 120.1 through 120.3. Section 120.2 covers the ability to sub-delegate.
