| Description: |
- Lower to mid-elevations on the windward slopes of the Cariboo, Monashee and Selkirk mountains; in the floodplains of the
Purcell and Continental Ranges; and in the Nass basin of northwestern BC
- Grades into IDF at lower elevations in the souther interior and SBS in the central interior. Grades into ESSF at higher
elevations in all areas
- Winters cool and wet; summers warm and dry
- Most productive interior forest zone with a great diversity of tree species, including western hemlock, western red cedar, and hybrid spruce in moist areas. Douglas-fir and lodgepole pine occur on drier sites and as seral communities. Devil's club and skunk cabbage
dominate in wetter sites
