Juveniles at the holding facility.
Juveniles show high site fidelity once released.
Released owl with transmitter. This monitoring strategy greatly improved our ability to monitor owl's fates.
To date, 31 fledglings have been produced by released juveniles.
Juvenile holding facility at the Kamloops Wildlife Park. Note raised burrows to prevent spring flooding.
Lac du Bois release site. Note tree encroachment and sagebrush dominance as a result of fire suppression.
Riparian zones at release sites. Meadow vole habitat should be enhanced in order to provide larger areas of hunting opportunities for Burrowing Owls.
