Water Power Projects

Terrestrial Habitats

Guidelines

Guidelines regarding information requirements and recommended methods for assessing the impacts of waterpower projects on terrestrial species and ecosystems are currently being developed by the Ecosystems Region 2 staff. Potential issues include cumulative effects assessments of habitat loss and human disturbance impacts on terrestrial wildlife species, and the effects of habitat fragmentation due to transmission line clearing. Potential focal species include Mountain Goats, Grizzly Bears, Wolverines, Harlequin Ducks, American Dippers, and Coastal Tailed Frogs.
