Salmon

Every species of pacific salmon is found in the estuary, marine and rivers in the region. Runs and openings each year vary depending on a number of factors. Salmon fishing on the Fraser River contains large tributaries, and many of the region's other rivers are world class. From pink salmon, which run on odd years and are great to catch on a trout rod with the family, to large Chinook. Fisheries & Oceans Canada manage salmon and all marine species in BC. Visit the Fisheries & Oceans Pacific Region website to obtain further information.

All 5 of these salmon occur in the Lower Mainland region:

Chinook

Chum

Coho

Pink

Sockey
